It's been a few weeks now, and honestly? I'm used to the diaper. The crinkle doesn't even register anymore. It's just part of getting dressed for work. But what I'm not used to is the constant commentary from the guys in the office. They never let it go. It's like they have a running list of 'diaper jokes' and they cycle through them daily. "Did you remember your pacifier today?" or "Need me to check if you're wet?" They'll lean over a female coworker's shoulder and say, "Aww, did someone make a stinky in their diaper?" One of them saw me carrying a file folder and quipped, "Is that your coloring book?" It’s not flirting; it's pure humiliation. They talk to us like we're infants who wandered into the wrong building. The worst is when we're in meetings and one of them will say, "Let's wrap this up before naptime," with a pointed look at all the women in the room. You just have to sit there and take it, feeling your face get hot while they all share a laugh. You'd think after this long they'd get bored, but no. The novelty hasn't worn off for them at all. Of all the jokes they make, my "favorite" has to be the daycare comments. They really lean into it, framing it like we've somehow escaped from a daycare and ended up here by mistake. Like yeah, bro, I escaped the day care, like wtf? Just this morning, one of them stopped me and asked, with this fake-concerned voice, "Hey sweetie, you look a little lost. The daycare is on the other side of the building." It's so annoying, "This isn't **daycare**, sweetheart. You sure you're in the right place?" Like, shut up already. No, I don't belong in daycare. They say it with this smirk, like they're so clever for pointing out the obvious mismatch, that an adult woman dressed for a professional environment is also wearing something that makes her look like a toddler. It just drives home that no matter how hard I work or how good my reports are, their first and lasting impression of me is that I'm just a grown-up baby who accidentally ended up here.
